ok, so i HATE menu planning and grocery shopping and i avoid it and dread it every single week which usually means multiple trips to target, walmart and the gorcery store each week. certainly not efficient and probably not the most cost effective. one of my goals is to plan the menu each week and post it on my blog for some accountability :-) as much as i hate doing this, i do feel SO MUCH BETTER when i've got the menu planned out and the food to prepare it. it makes meal times so much less stressful for me!
i found this awesome application while i was surfing blogs the other night called "plan to eat". i am HOPING this will make meal planning much more manageable for me. i LOVE the feature where it puts together your grocery list for you and you just print it out. this is a HUGE help and motivator for me. you can get a free trial for 30 days and then it's a small fee monthly. i'm going to see how i like it for this month and then decide what to do, but so far so good!
anyway, here's our family's menu for the week
breakfast: steel cut oats, waffles, smoothies, yogurt and granola
lunch: organic spaghetti o's, mac n cheese, pbj
dinners:
monday~ham, peas, roasted red potatos
tuesday~sloppy joes, salad and sweet potato french fries
wednesday~salmon, baked zuccini and squash, cous cous
thursday~leftovers
friday~burritos
saturday~leftovers
sunday~pizza or amy's frozen meals
